The Second Yes-Part 2 (Notes from a Sermon I Heard) ~J.G.

Some of us had said the first yes to Christ, which is the grace, the
salvation, the blessings—but how bout the yes to the process of
sanctification? Most of us can get stuck in the first yes, receiving Christ
and all the blessings He has for us.
God’s yes is settled. His yes means yes. God already said yes to
cleaning up our mess before u even asked. Remember, man can’t
cancel what God has called. Are you committed to the plan or to the
purpose? Sometimes God will cancel ur plan to get u to the purpose.
And that second yes is God’s plan for ur life—the walk with Christ.
Jer 29:13 — “I know the plans I have for u,” says the Lord. You didn’t
say yes to understanding the plan; u said yes to God.
But can God still get a yes when times get rough, when things aren’t
going according to ur plan? Does ur yes still mean yes, or does it
become a “yes, but…”? Yes, but I need this to happen. Yes, but it must
be easy. Or can God get a yes-yes? A yes, I trust in You thru it all. A yes,
I want what u have planned for me, regardless if I like the plan or not.
U can’t say yes to the blessing of Christ only when it feels good, but
yes when things are a complete mess as well. Give Him a Yes thru the
Mess! ~J.G.
