I am living FOR God. (He needs "me".)

I am living for GOD. (HE uses me to point to HIM.)

I am working FOR God. (The work "I" want to do for Him.)

I am working for GOD. (What HE wants me to do to point to HIM.) 

I want to help people. (It makes "me" feel good about "myself".)

I want to help people. (I'm a "people", too! God continues to help me and "HE" gets ALL of the credit.)
