Where Breakthrough Begins (Notes from a Sermon I Heard) ~J.G.

Jesus looks for the worst situations and walks right up to them. Most of us love the idea of God changing our situations or circumstances, but we’re not too big on having to change ourselves. We ask God to change certain situations, but we need to be asking God to do a work in us—and by Him working on us, our situation will change along with it. We may come to Christ and praise Him to feel better, but Christ is asking us: would we rather get well?
Feeling better is temporary; getting well is permanent. You don’t have to beg God for a breakthrough—it was already paid for by blood. Remember this: the facts may be against you, but faith has the ability to overcome facts.
Is it possible that while you are waiting for Christ to come down and do something, He is waiting for you to get up? Breakthrough begins with you. It all begins with you, so ask God to work on you, not your situation.
